I've had Greg Pth's photos bookmarked on my computer for a while now, but they're so nice and soothing, I thought they'd be perfect to share on a Friday.
I'm pretty much laying low this weekend. I have quite a bit of homework to do, so I'll be puttering around the house getting that done and putting the finishing touches on my new blog layout (!).
What are you up to this weekend?

Every so often, Japanese label Syrup creates a collection based off of a Disney film. I have to say, I got pretty excited when I took a gander at their site and discovered their latest collection was based off of Alice in Wonderland. Although I was less than impressed with the Tim Burton film, this collection I like. The way they integrated subtle references to the film in this photo shoot... so good!

So I kinda totally missed the first day of fall until it already happened. That makes me kind of sad because summer's my favorite season and to think I let it pass me by without even saying goodbye! But. BUT. All is not lost. The season's first apples showed up at the farmer's market yesterday! Bring on the apple season! I think a trip to the apple orchards is in order soon. It's the simple things in life, I tell you.
Here's an autumn-y picture for ya to get you in the mood.

In contrast to yesterday's doom and gloom post (btw thanks for your sweet comments on that; you make a great support team ;)), here's a happy and cheery room for ya!
I'm feeling A LOT better today... just had a lot to get off my chest yesterday. Yesterday was just one of those days when you want to abandon all common sense and run off into the woods and live wild with a pack of dogs and never shave and create a world free of stress and forget about the real world.
Last night I had a nice talk with my Dad (thanks dad!) and I realized how much alike we are in dealing with stress than I thought (aka we tend to sweat the small stuff like there's no tomorrow). I went for a morning swim today and cleared my mind. Needless to say, I'm feeling MUCH better today and optimistic about school and the blog and whatnot. I CAN do this :)
But enough about me, how LOVELY is this room?! It's just so light and airy, with just the right amount of color... it can't help but make you smile. And that 'never grow up' print? I think I need it in my room, right next to this.

Well this kind of describes the way I feel at the moment. A
I keep thinking of the quote by David Allen: "You can do anything, but not everything." Mr. Allen was definitely onto something. I feel like I'm running just to stay in place. I thought I knew what I wanted. I mean, I want to go to college, I want to be a graphic designer and a photographer and a blogger and run half marathons and still have time for myself. But I'm wondering if that's just too much to ask for. Or maybe I'm overreacting and in a week, I'll be fine.
Right now, I'm juggling school with blogging (in the midst of re-launching my blog, but now i have to think of if i'm even going to have enough time to take the blog up to the next level, which is what i wanted to do) with running with photography and networking with other creatives and I accidentally broke my online portfolio and don't know how to fix it.
I don't mean to get all boohoo on y'alls, I guess I'm just having a no good poopoo week. Happens to the best of us, I suppose.
On a lighter note, if you're having a poo day/week too, go here.

How crazy beautiful are these images of Cinque Terre by Yvonne Bauer? The colors and the atmosphere are just UNREAL. The second picture kinda even looks like a dollhouse, at least to me. Dying a little on the inside to be here, that's all.

Now how's this for a home worth swooning over? This 1930s cottage belongs to interior decorators Gardener and Marks (do check out their website when you get a chance. their work is incredible). That library is just unreal! It looks like a set from a movie or something. I love the juxtaposition of industrial and antique fixtures and furnishings, the picnic style dining room table, the claw foot tub, and oh yeah, basically everything else about this house. Such a cozy, rustic charm. Set me down in that library with a book, a cup of tea, and I'll be good to go!

You gotta love some good styling and some equally good photography, right? That's why I am head over heels in love with the latest photoshoot for Blog Brunch, a cool collaborative network created by bloggers, for bloggers. If you haven't heard of them, you should check them out! With styling by Jenn Elliott Blake and photos by Julie Harmsen, the compositions are absolutely gorgeous. And I don't use the word gorgeous often, so I really mean it. I wouldn't mind my desk looking like the first picture. Right now it kinda looks like a tornado hit it :/

Have you heard of the 18-year-old photographer Olivia Bee? She's a pretty incredible lady, having shot for companies such as Nike, Converse, and The New York Times. Her latest work is a video entitled 'Il est pour nous' and shoot for Hermès Paris. I told you she's incredible, right? Below are some screenshots from my favorite scenes from the video. I definitely encourage you to watch it when you get a chance.

One of my favorite spots in the bay area is the Berkeley Marina. It's a bit out of the way from where I live, so I've only been there a handful of times, but supposedly it has the best sunsets, according to Sunset Magazine (no pun intended) or something. All the times I've ever gone, it's been overcast. Go figure.
I got this striped print dress from J. Crew at the beginning of the summer and was waiting for the perfect occasion to wear it. I think this was it. This was also the rare occasion that Aubrey cooperated in a pose for a picture. I think this calls for a celebration of sorts.
