Last month, I shot an editorial for welikewelove Magazine. It was planned for months, then postponed, re-planed, postponed again, that kind of thing. I am so so happy that it all came together in the end! Also, this shoot was my first cover :) I am a very, very happy camper!
styling: amy soderlind
hair and makeup: mikaela south
model is beck at cast images
special thanks to nathan wong for the location
The concept of this shoot was to combine theatrical styling with the rugged terrain to create a subdued version of a mad hatter. We chased the sun as long as we could, then worked into dusk, which eventually turned to night. Quite the fun day tromping around, lugging furniture around the fields!
You can view the magazine in its entirety here (it will be available to purchase in print shortly).

Yesterday was full of too much goodness; a most wonderful start to the week. Nothing major... just got a few compliments here and there, did an awesome workout, found some amazing boots at a consignment shop (pictured above). You know... the little things in life... little lovelies. Hope your week is off to a great start!
PS. Aubrey likes my boots too :)

On Saturday, I went to Chloe Aftel's Impossible Project Polaroid workshop at PhotoboothSF that just opened up in the city. It was my first time EVER using a Polaroid camera. There's something so special about the quality of the image that cannot be achieved by any other camera. I think I may be addicted. Except there's the small fact that I don't own a Polaroid camera. That may be a problem ;)
PhotoboothSF had pretty much every type of film camera and equipment possible... toy cameras, Polaroid cameras, random camera books... I found it somewhat ironic (and hopefully not in poor taste) that I was snapping behind-the-scenes shots with my digital camera at a venue dedicated to keeping analog photography alive (the things you do for a blog, i tell ya). Oh well. Anyway, Chloe is a most wonderful person to be around. She's already talking about organizing another Polaroid workshop. Can't wait!

PS. Polaroids from the workshop are up on my website under 'Personal.'

She won my heart in Midnight in Paris (if you haven't seen that movie, go see it now!). If you've seen the movie, you know what I mean. At the end, I sat through the entire closing credits to see just who, this adorable French girl was. Her name is Léa Seydoux and she has such a marvelous intriguing look. I can't quite put my finger on it, but the French have this whole 'less is more' thing going on. I don't know what it is, but Léa has it and I love it. A charming, charming lady indeed.
