Mercedes in her studio
While in LA, I visited Mercedes Helwein at her studio. She's a very lovely lady and if you aren't familiar with her illustrations, I strongly urge you to check them out now. She's also the film director behind this Orla Kiely video. And she's also written a book. So pretty much she's my hero. It was such a treat to get a glimpse into her life. Here's a look at what I saw...

Her studio is wonderfully gorgeous, filled with artwork and knick knacks galore. She has an entire closet full of vintage goodies she's collected over the years; most of which she has her models wear when she paints them.

What a beautiful studio, I love looking at artist's studios but always feel I'm prying into a part of their soul. This one is especially inspiring in it's simplicity x
