Tea storage jars
So I blogged about these DIY tea storage bags a while back. My mom and I bought a bunch of mason jars at a thrift store last month and finally got around to doing this project yesterday. If you have chalkboard paint and mason jars, it is such a quick and easy way of dressing up your average tea storing arrangements (which for us, used to be plastic bags).

The best thing about these jars is that they don't have to be for tea... they could be for candy, cookies, or even non-food items, like rings or hair clips. Endless possibilities, I tell you!

I did this to my jars a couple of years ago, and every time I see it around the internet I laugh because it's really not very practical. The chalk accidentally rubs off pretty easily, and then you don't know what's in your jar. It does make the jars look nicer, but I ended up just foregoing the chalk and marking the glass with a Sharpie. Maybe it will work better for you than it did for me, though.

@Rachel: I know! That's the problem... you just have to be extra careful when opening and closing the lids. So far it's worked okay for us :)

Very cute! I've seen this done before with labels but the chalkboard caps are such a fun quick way to do it too!

The perfect solution to traditional chalk?
....liquid chalk pens / markers. Most coffee shops use them & you can find them in most craft or office supply store or Amazon.

I like the black tops. I'm starting to drink more and more hot tea. Tis the season!

What a great idea!

I actually have the paint already, and I could use some overhauling of my tea drawer, which is a mess! :)
