If you read any fashion blogs, you've probably heard about Alexa Chung's second collection for Madewell (if not, you know about it now!) Last minute, I heard that Alexa Chung herself was going to be at the SF Madewell store Thursday night to celebrate the launch of her new collection. Alexa Chung! Herself! In San Francisco of all places! I deem that to be enough said, no?
I'm not a crazy Alexa Chung fan girl (although she is pretty cute), but I still was a little curious to see what the turnout would be like. So I abandoned my regular Thursday night rituals (consisting of being in my PJ's by 7pm and watching home improvement shows) and went with Kathleen to check it out. As you can imagine, the event drew quite a gaggle of well-dressed nerds and hipsters. Here's the night in pictures...

Totally worth going to, except now I want EVERYTHING from the collection! (it's even better looking in real life) I've especially got my eyes on this red dress...

I'm not crazy about Alexa Chung either, but the pieces here are pretty great! I'll keep an open mind :)
I love Alexa, so jealous you got to meet her! xx
Oh, wow! That looks super exciting & those clothes - so pretty. We never get anything like this in Australia :(

LOVE the dress you're coveting in the burnt sienna. I'd wear it to death!
Gotta love those necklaces!
@Sarah Swell Jewelry: Ohh yes! I love that color too. So autumny... love rust color :)
aww the photo of you and alexa is so sweet! she seems super nice!
I can't believe they had jammy dodger biscuits at a fancy fashion launch party, that's pretty cool. Very British!
love the necklaces!! and alexa looks great as always! thanks for sharing :)
love everything about this post!
Wow! You are really QUITE amazing yourself, Miss Gypsy!
Is the "palm tree" nail art literal? Love the shop, exciting to see what's new. There's nothing better than a sneak peek!!!
@Nautical Wheeler: Yes, it was literal! If you look really closely at Alexa's nails, you will see that there are palm trees painted on her nails (also goes in line with this dress http://www.madewell.com/madewell_feature/ALEXACHUNG/PRDOVR~53063/53063.jsp). I wanted to get it done, but there was a huge waiting list!
I am more shocked by all those Jammy Dodgers. Seriously, they're not even that nice? Why not a hobnob? Far better.
Some of the clothes are pretty, but they don't ship to England. Which is ironic--they're a collab with an English girl after all!
wow, looks like you had an amazing time! although your usual 'routine' doesn't sound too bad either ;)
and by the way:your hair looks amazing! wow :D
I saw your tweet about this event & an array of mixed emotions (from excitement to sadness) flowed through me. I wished so badly to have gone! But just knowing she was a good hr away is cool too :) & you loook cute + fancy next to her <3
