I've got a thing for braids; especially with this hot summer weather. My hair is so long, the only (stylish) way to get my hair out of my face is with braids. I did the waterfall/cascading French braid yesterday and it worked out quite marvelously! For all of you inquisitive minds, there's an awesome tutorial on Love, Maegan. I swear, braids are the sole reason I am keeping my hair long for now (almost reaches my belly button).

Out of all these braids, the only one I haven't tried is the crown braid. That's my next task! Have any of you tried these braids?

I love braids although I almost always just do a simple french braid but it keeps me happy nonetheless (:
i've never tried the crown braid either - it looks beautiful and not too hard!
My hair is super thin, so braids don't really create a marvelous effect, but I still do them relentlessly. :) I love inside-out braids especially.
Lovely. Looks like it's all about braids right now! Fun photos.

I have really long hair as well and I love the look of french braids. Got to start learning it first!

Oh! I would love to be able to do braids like this for myself and my daughters.
Thanks for posting these inspiring photographs, I will have a go!
So pretty!
OMG I love the waterfall braid *__* I saw that hairstyle on pinterest, thnaks for sharing the tutorial.
I am in the process of growing my hair out so braids are really in the picture for me yet. Hopefully next summer I can rock some of these looks.
I love braids, such a feminine look :) Unfortunately, I'm rubbish at doing them myself! xx

Such beautiful braids. I wish my hair was a bit longer, I'd wear my hair in braids all the time!
There must be something in the air, there have been so many lovely hairstyle posts lately! I just shared my latest hair experiments on my blog too, hehe.
I love French braids... My favourite way to do one is across the back of my head, then I put the end into a side ponytail or messy bun. It's perfect for summer and makes it look a bit more interesting!
i also looove braids. i need to experiment more, though. my hair is pretty long, and I want to learn how to do the waterfall braid! i learned how to once, but stopped practicing!
I wish I could do these on myself but my hair's too thin to cooperate! I really love the waterfall one though, it's beautiful
One of the reasons I want to grow my hair!
I'm into braiding my hair across the front, but what I'd love to try is the fishtail braid. However, I'll need to grow my hair a little bit more.

Great post, love the braids! The first hair do is incredible! Such a great fashion tip!
Love the waterfall braid! I'm definitely going to try it- I'm hair styling incompetent so we'll see how it goes!
I know!!! I thank fashion for inventing braids!
i too have long hair but almost no skill with braids (i can do a normal single braid- no french braid, side braid, anything else, though i did once successfully pin up two braids milkmaid style- but it's a bit of a bother for me to do normally hah), but a really easy and stylish look i like to do once in a while is the flipped ponytail! have you tried that? you just make a ponytail (it can be low or fairly high), part it above the hairband to make a little hole, and flip rest of your ponytail and push it through. you can find a tutorial online. once you get the hang of it, it's ridiculously fast and easy, and i find it stays perfectly in place with out any pins or adjusting throughout the day- and it looks even better if a few wisps fall out around your face! it keeps it out of the way but sometimes when someone catches a glimpse of it they often say "wow, i love your hair! how did you do that? i never figured it out!" or something similar.
we hope to try this
Wish i could do the top one with my hair haha
lovely, makes me miss my long hair a bit :)
