Feline La Mode

Tuesday, August 31, 2010
I guess this is animal day today on the blog. Totally inadvertent, me posting two animal-themed posts, but without further ado, Feline La Mode, a photo series by Nina Robinson.

Cats are elegant, we all know that. But cat masks + pretty clothing + pretty amazing photography = très sophistiquée, non?

Anyway, Nina Robinson, check her out. She's an awesome photographer and really sweet.

(model and stylist is celisse müller, whose home the series was shot in).

We are all just creatures of the sun

Monday, August 30, 2010
I have to blog about this girl because she's great. More than great; amazing, actually. (insert adjective here that would describe a pretty girl who has lovely style). I actually discovered her a few months ago on Lookbook and stumbled upon her Flickr. Then, forgot about her for a while and now I have refound her again on Model Mayhem! So because of that, I am going to write about her now.

Elle is a photography student from Brooklyn studying at the School of Visual Arts in NYC with a concentration in fashion photography. (note: also the mastermind behind this wonderful picture). Anyway, she's pretty cool. That's all. And we both used the AA Petticoat Skirt for our photos (her, in the second photo, me here) which gives her bonus points in my book.

GUEST POST: Colourful tights

Friday, August 27, 2010
The inspiration for the day is colourful tights and knee-length socks. Buy it as a gift. Buy it for yourself. Wear it and match it up to your cute outfit. Take some photos. Because they are just adorable!

Just some images I like that seem to go well together. Even though the first one doesn't have to do with ballet, it still reminds me of it for some reason. Does it remind you of that too? There's something so graceful, so delicate but yet raw about the image.

One of my favorite etsy shops is Simply Hue. Run by the amazingly talented Vicki, she created these sunny, summery photos. There's something about daydreaming about summer through photographs that always makes me smile! Which one is your favorite color? Enjoy!

The Jazz Age Lawn Party

Saturday, August 21, 2010
I don't usually blog about things like this, but I thought this was such a stinkin' neat idea, it deserved to be shared on here :)
The Jazz Age Lawn Party
The Jazz Age Lawn Party is a bi-annual affair in New York. Next week is the next party and I so wish I could attend, but alas. (for times and more info, click here).

"Under a shady grove of centuries-old trees, caressed by fresh sea air, a sprawling green surrounded by historic officers’ quarters and 18th century naval ramparts becomes the setting for a true Gatsby affair."

I am officially in love with this decade :) Wouldn't it be neat if everyone dressed like that?!

Snail mail is just so pretty sometimes... much prettier than an email can ever be! I'm ashamed to say I hardly ever write letters, it's just that email is so much easier, you know?
