GUEST POST: Slip Into Natural
Hello beauties. My name is Amy, a young fashion artist working by way of styling in San Francisco. I also write "Refuses To Label," a blog I started with my best friend Alex, where we post joint projects, individual endeavours and everything that keeps us going in between. I am incredibly honored that Micaela asked me to be a guest on The Drifter and the Gypsy. She asked that I share a particular shoot with you, and on the way share a bit about myself.

"Slip Into Natural" was an incredibly easy collaboration. After 30 seconds on the phone with Nina, the photographer, I knew we could all create something we felt really good about. At our first face to face meeting, the three of us were already sketching out ideas for multiple shoots... Our minds were all born on the same rhythm, yet our slightly different rhymes gave it a flavor that was unexplainable.

So our mission for this shoot was born: Promote conscious consumption. Spend no money. Promote local businesses. All the clothes we pulled were from San Francisco vintage and thrift stores, and the jewelry comes from around the globe via Ananse Village, a local fair trade business with dealings in Turkey, Afghanistan, Asia and Africa.

CHEW Magazine published the editorial for August's "Africa Issue," which can be viewed on their website.

Hope you enjoyed the reading what went into producing this fashion story!

xx Amy
