Waking up, as if from a dream

Friday, July 30, 2010
It's funny how film photos don't look real. I mean they are, but it's as if there's a difference between reality and the lens and they don't quite match up. Nothing seems real. Like waking up, as if from a dream.

Have you already seen "Inception"? You should, because you're always talking about dreams...

@ Floddertje: Hehe, I know :) I haven't seen Inception, I'm not really big on loud movies with special effects.

Wow, I love the second one. How does the photographer do that?

this is one of the reasons why i love film.

@Sammi: I have no idea... probably something she did while developing it in the darkroom + expired film.

I think that's why i love analogic so much. It's the dream quality, always like perfect, even if blurred or over exposed.<3

Oh, what pretty shots! Are these really from films? They are so dreamy; it's magical in a sense! Have fun at the Renegade Craft Fair! It's sounds very exciting; maybe I'll try to attend next year. :)

Hope you are well!

How weird I was going to ask you the same thing. I know you said that you don't like movies with loud music but you should really go and see Inception, it's not your average blockbuster summer movie, it's so complex, smart, thought provoking and the action sequences are absolutely stunning and well thought out. It's about implanting an idea into someones mind through their subconscious and dreams.

Definitely and probably the best film I've seen in my entire life. Plus the cast is absolutely amazing. The score (music) is pretty awesome too. Literally it blows your mind.

I was wondering if you would take the time to have a look at my poll to help me decide the name I'm going to call my new blog. I've already come up with a list of names, but need some help in choosing the best one! Here's the link:

I love that photograph of the girl on the swing...so beautiful! :)

Film photography has always reminded me of a clash between how images look in newspapers and on tv...there's something fuzzy and different about them for sure.

Love, love, love film images ... they are hard to get 'perfect' and that's what I like about them .. perfect is boring.

hmm, not necessarily. it's a popular style over a lot of the blogosphere now, but I mean, look at the kinds of pictures the media used back when analogue was the default. film can produce very sharp, life-like photos as well as ones in this dreamier style. it just depends on the equipment.
