Film shots, finally!

Tuesday, July 6, 2010
So here are the film shots I took of the two little girls (and a random paper crane thing i made) way back in November. This was the first time I've ever used a film camera and I just love the quality of the photos.
Film shots, finally
Film shots, finally
I'm getting film back from this photoshoot this week, so I'm really excited to see how it came out.
Cranes
I have so many photoshoots planned this summer, it's crazy. So much to do, but I love it. My goal this summer is to do at least one photoshoot/week. It can be casual/full-blown with makeup artists, stylists, and hairstylists/candid/whatever, but by the end of the summer, I want to have a more versatile portfolio and lots of images to choose from. I have another casual shoot with Hanna tomorrow-same location, I guess you could call it 'part two' of the other photoshoot since we really didn't have much time to spend last time. And then another one Saturday with a new model. So expect a lot more pictures by me! I hope you don't mind ;)

Anyway, let me know what you think about these! I can't wait to experiment with more film :)

amazing photographs. The second one of the little girls gives me the chills, I can almost feel their connection, their little souls full of hopes and dreams. You really captured their personalities in these pictures.

@Zoe_Flood: Aw, thank you! Haha, I don't know when I'm coming back down. Maybe August, but who knows.
@Indrė: Thanks! I really really love film and will continue to experiment, but unfortunately, it's just too expensive, I can't be using it all the time.

Lauren said...

I agree with Indre!! I love all the photos you put up, but these ones are particularly breathtaking and beatiful. Im getting my first proper films developed at the moment and i cant wait to see what they look like! I think the wait makes it so much more exciting!!

I hope you get this comment :P apparently 'the sartorialist' is having the same blogger issues :P

more photos the better, nice to see how you're progressing with your photoshoots throughout time so do share with us :) what film camera are you using? and is it a b+w film? the paper cranes looks the most appealing to me, nice focus!

The Drifter and the Gypsy on July 6, 2010 5:08 PM said...

@See Hear Say: Thanks! I use a Nikon FM film camera. And yes, this is b&w film! The cranes photo is my favorite too, the focus was just on accident (i didn't do anything special to achieve it that way) haha!

I found your blog late last week and I've fallen in love with it since then! You are a very special 16 year old and very good job on your blog and your photography:]

Me myself just started blogging and doing casual photo shoots (no models yet :P) and you have inspired me so much!

I got a Diana for Christmas and you just motivated me to do some photo shoots with it(i still need to get the film for it that's why i was procrastinating haha)

very nice knowing you,
esther
