Walking on a dream

Friday, June 25, 2010
I started writing this post with a million things to tell you. I tried to write a poem, recount yesterday's events, and write about a quote I like. But none of that will do. Because I don't think in words anymore, only photographs. Words used to be my only comfort. When I was 7, I wrote a 100 page story about the adventures of two girls named Maddie and Mandy. I remember myself furiously scribbling down words because my hand never moved as fast as the words flowed through my mind. I wish I could find that story now, but it's tossed in with everything else we don't use, lost amongst boxes and boxes of stuff. Maybe someday words will come back into my life...

So here's how I feel in photographs:

Oh, Eleanor. She is just one of the most incredible people to walk this planet, and I honestly mean that. I too have recently found myself to be losing my words, but perhaps it's an effect her work is having on me.

These Photos are beautiful. If they are how you are feeling, what a lovely thoughtful, dreamy mood you must be in.

@Dina-Dyorre: You and me both. Some people are just born to do a certain thing and she is one of them.
@raspberry pancakes: ohh, yes, it's one of mine too-so serene!

Her face is unique yet beautiful! Once again amazing choice of photos!

I am usually inspired by songs, mostly lyrics. And by expressions of actors in movies. And by everything you post in your blog, including the quotes. Truly, amazing work!

@Kathleen Rhea G: I tried to comment on your blog, but I don't think you allow comments...? Anyway, if you want to use my words, please email me with what the context is.

Oh those are lovely photos! For me it always depends on my mood. I go through phases, sometimes I can only express myself visually, like with art or photographs, other times it is with words (and boy do I understand what you mean about the hand never moving fast enough!). Lately I've been so flat that I haven't been able to express myself at all. The only way I've been able to express myself, is to myself, by putting my earphones in and playing music. That can only be communicated to others by them viewing my last.fm account.

I have two weeks off of work now though, and I'm hoping to clear my head and calm down and let my creative juices flow again.

I actually have a novel I've been putting off for a while now, and I think I might give it a try (while I snuggle up with cute kitties! :D).

Thanks for sharing!

@Millie: I can totally relate! I love lyrics for that, they move me in an inexplicable way. And have fun with writing the book, it sounds exciting! I always end up getting writers' block when attempting to write a story, so I usually write poems instead.

I love this

and don't worry, it is not just you

everyone secretly thinks in photographs, writers are merely people with a gift for describing them
