Gosh, I need some pretty redheads to take pictures of. Actually I just need models in general. You know those two shoots I was talking about doing this month? Well, they got postponed until next month. Oh, the joys of relying on 4+ people and trying to pick dates that work for all of us.

Anyhoodle I ordered myself a wireless remote to try to take some self-portraits. I don't know about you, but I honestly just don't like self-portraits. I always feel so... I don't know... awkward, weird in front of the camera. But I will try since I seem to be the only reliable model.

So enough complaining from me! Let's talk about something happy. I'm going thrifting again today (yay!). I know I've been bad about sharing my goods from my other thrifting extravaganza, but the weather's been junky so it's always dark inside and rainy outside and I'm having trouble coming up with ideas on how to take the pictures (in the house or outside, should I model the clothes or take pictures of them on the hanger, etc). I know, I know, excuses, excuses. Today I hope I find some pretty stuff again. And eventually, I will share it all with you guys. So stay tuned y'alls for sometime in the near future.

See you all on Monday! Hope you have a great weekend, whatever you're doing and wherever you are! Any exciting plans?

Those pictures are gorgeous! I always love anything Rockie Nolan takes!

I know how you feel with the models & the shoot planning. It can be really difficult but in the meantime don't be scared to take self portraits. It feels super weird but you just gotta have fun with it! Try and find a spot where no one else can see you and then you can really have fun! (:
& with your thrifting why don't you wear the item you feel prettiest then and I have the others on hangers in the same photo or what-not. Mix it up!

& this weekend I'm spending Saturday afternoon & night at cute little hideaway about an hours drive from my house, it's in the mountains away from everything & apparently there's a fat pig! :D

funny ... redheads have been striking my visual fancy as of late too (evidenced in my blog post today featuring a shot of karen elson) and i've been toying with the idea of dousing my head with some red dye (but, alas, i know the sad truth - my blonde-y blonde hair doesn't hold the hot color for more than a few days) *sigh*

I'm so happy that people have started to appreciate redheads, like myself, instead of calling us soul-less gingers all the time !

Those pictures are so pretty! I have to agree with you, I hate self portraits. One think that I don't really care for is school photos. They are very posed and I just feel...strange doing them, lol. I much rather small group photos and things like that. lol. That's just me though.

I am following your blog, I would love if you stopped by my blog and followed me.

Blessings,
Maggie

@Chelsea Whipps: Haha, it always strikes me funny, why redheads are always teased and I think some of the most photogenic people have red hair.

Artpixie on May 28, 2010 at 5:40 PM said...

I totally agree with you about the self portrait thing, I have a remote myself and I only use myself as a model. It's so awkward because I have to make sure nobody is home or around when I take pictures.

plus nobody ever wants to pose for me :(

yessss, redheads. :) i'm a redhead and need photos taken! ;)

I have the same problem, and I don't even have a model at all. I've tried a few self-portraits too, but I feel awkward outside if people are around.. Somehow it feels so much better shooting someone else than myself outside.

go gingers go!
i also feel awkward with self portraits. makes me want to create some sort of mask, which is where it becomes more interesting, maybe? idk!
