The Apple of My Eye
Apple-themed shoot by British photographer Eleanor Hardwick. So perfectly beautiful-le sigh. That girl is a genius (not to mention she's only 16)! Such an inspiration to me, in fact quite possibly one of my biggest photography inspirations. I've been following her for a little over a year now and she still never ceases to blow my socks off.

Oh and update on yesterday's thrifting day: success. Will blog about sometime soonish.

Sixteen year old prodigies (Yes, that includes you) make me jealous. You're all only my age, and my life seems to be going nowhere. You inspire me anyway. I love it <3

16! you've got to be kidding me. I am so confused! How can such a young person have and know such passion in images? How blessed she is. wow!

Speaking as a 16 year old myself, why do people get so amazed when a person of the younger generation (13, 14, 15, etc.) comes up with something brilliant and fantastic and artistic? I'm not a hater, I absolutely L-O-V-E Eleanor's work, but I'm honestly curious why this continues to amaze people!

Us young'uns do have some artistic sensibilities in us ya know! :)

@Elizabeth: I'm 16 too, but it's just amazing to see someone so talented and so young really living their life to the full. Many youths today don't know what they want to do with their lives even when they get out of college, so it's always amazing to see such young ones successfully pursuing what they love at an early age.

Elizabeth said...

@Micaela Yes, I do agree with that fact! It's sad that some people our age take so long to figure out their path, but it just seems funny to me that it amazes people that she's so young. In my opinion, age is irrelevant to that which you create.

@Elizabeth: Yes, that's true. Some of the most successful people started when they were very young!

Love this concept. Reminds me of my days as a teen stealing apples from people's gardens in the country (they had too many already)

Amazing photos. They are magical whether produced by a 16 year old or a 96 year old. They remind me of a time not so long ago when my world was full of me being not so grown-up but wanting to be and not realizing I was grown-up once I actually was. Mass confusion --- in the meantime all I wanted was to be dramatic --- the apples, the lips, the temptation of everything ---- and then forget about it all and just look good --- with nothing that shimmered as beautifully as the clothes in these pictures --- but I thought they did. Clothes that captured me. Clothes that revealed me rather than hide me. These pictures tell a million stories of a million people --- people that in the end grew up but before then lived a dream full of undying love and where every experience flowed around us making us more and more aware of the excitement of our future. But the future had not yet arrived --- it was a facade --- we still were children --- but it was a beautiful facade that only a child could see --- it was not just a time for an amazingly beautiful skirt(phenomenal pink cuteness)or painted lips(dying to kiss every apple in sight) --- it was about trying everything or anything (including riding our childhood tricycle loaded with our unhatched future) until the stain of experience allowed us to become grown-up --- the memories of that time created my mind and now are revealed in this post.
This post is poetry. oxox
