Abandoned house

I love abandoned houses. Don't you? I love chipped paint, crooked shudders, and sagging roofs. I took this picture of this abandoned house near where I live a couple of months ago. They recently knocked it down (sad!) because I guess the neighbors voted to have it torn down. Now it's just a lonely empty lot of land.

On a totally different note, check out my friend Mila's (of Loveology) lovely new blog layout! Mila and Liss of Daydream Lily did the html coding modifications, I did the header design (using Ana Laura Perez's illustration), and Danni of oh, hello friend did the side bar header and footer designs. I love it when a bunch of bloggers all pitch in on designing one layout-they all seem to add a bit of their own style.

I adore abandoned houses. Theres one in particular that I go out of my way to walk by. It's a cute little cottage, and I wonder what it's story is. If it ever goes up for sale I will do whatever I need to do to purchase it.

I really enjoy abandoned, decaying buildings/houses. There is something creepy, melancholy, and yet beautiful about them in their decay. They have a beauty about them that just begs to be captured by photography because there is no other way to duplicate that art that is a combination of what man built then being affected by the forces of time and nature.

Really nice job on the header for the Loveology site.

Abandon houses are beautiful... as are old cellar holes, stonewalls from the colonial days.. etc. Go haunting and amazing..

However I disagree about 'empty plot of land' Nature is never empty, it's always beautiful regardless of people livng there

i love when things are chipped up and peeling and old... there are so many stories behind every single chip, and scratch, and scuff... and that's beautiful.

thats so sad they knocked it down. I found out that my current house was going to be a knock down, but the owners decided to put it up for sale instead. I hope the new owners don't want to knock it down, its such a charming old place.

and yay for our collaboration on Mila's blog. I love how its turned out.

Oh yes, I've been fascinated by abandoned houses for ages! Years ago, I went inside one in the country (I don't recommend this...)--the floors were caving in, and the only things inside were a lone chair and an opened high school yearbook on the floor--creepy!

I had a gorgeous house in the little town I lived in that stood untouched from the 20´s I just to go and lie down in the bed, play on their piano and play for hours on end. It was just the most gorgeous dream house. You mad me think of this now!
