What is it about polaroids that make them so magical?

I am ashamed to admit I've never taken a polaroid picture in my life. I really want a polaroid camera, but I'm just wondering is any particular camera better than another? I saw one for $10 at a thrift shop once, but didn't know if it worked or not, so I didn't buy it (which I really regret now!).

P.S. Read about how you can now buy polaroid film (via Daydream Lily)

P.P.S. Totally cute polaroid proposal!

I think I might have taken a polaroid picture once in my life, I was very young and am not that sure if I did or if I just was there when it happened.
But I love them too and would love a camera, but probably won't get one because of the costs.
I did just get a Nikon d3000, but at least I can now shoot an unlimited amount of "free" pictures.

That proposal was so cute, I didn't read the whole thing yet, but those pictures give me the general idea, how cute!

The perfect fade they provide to every image makes it seem like you're really looking at a storybook of your life - it's a captured moment, but it is actually in the past as opposed to always being seen with perfect clarity

Oooh, these are really pretty! i know what you mean about polaroids, there's some magic about them. the lighting is really faded so they always end up looking dreamy.

i've never taken a polaroid picture in my life, either!

Polaroids are magic. That's why I can imagine it's hard to not inflate it. But due to immense prices of the polaroid itself (not the camera) it could be a tool for the magic moments. I think you just have to be very patient.

Btw I am remembering one polaroid shot that was taken off me with two people I haven't met in like 15 years, as long as I haven't seen the polaroid itself. It's just strange how clearly I remember this picture and the yellow-ish fade.

I got a polaroid camera last year for $15 via craigslist and it was a great investment! If you see another one, definitely grab it and try it out. The film is the most expensive part. Since the film is kinda pricy, i use the shakeit app on my iphone to test out an image before snapping with the real film. my entire fridge is now covered with polaroids of friends and family and other favorite shots so it's definitely a fun investment.

Polaroids are one of the big LOVES of my life! They are magical...

I own 2 polaroid camera's, a S600 and a SX70, both work and I bought them on Ebay for a very low price. Unfortunately the film is so expensive!

I have a polaroid camera sitting at home that I haven't used because I didn't have film for it. I can't wait to buy some! I'm not sure what it is about polaroids that make them so special but they are quite magical.

Personally, what's magical about polaroids for me is the process involved - taking the photo, watching it develope in your hand, holding it, seeing something you created so quickly and not digitally. It's really special. xo.

I had a spice girls special editon polaroid camera when I was a kid, bought it in spain on vacation.

I'm going to buy myself a new camera on ebay soon. But i'd prefer a new pink one:3
