The first picture reminds me of an elegant Mad Hatter tea party. Have you guys seen the Alice in Wonderland movie? I still haven't yet, but I'm probably going to this weekend. To be honest, I'm not all that excited. I just don't think it'll be as magical as the book.
I used to build forts when I was younger. I would grab a bunch of chairs from the kitchen and use them to prop a bed sheet up. Then I would crawl inside and read. Sometimes I would wake up really early in the morning, before everyone else woke up and crawl inside my fort. It seemed so peaceful and safe there. Did you build forts too?

Oh my gosh forts! I grew up in Africa, and LOVED fort making, I got a massive box one day, decorated my "home" played in it for weeks, then my parents burned it because a black widow spider nested in there. What an aweful story! I'm ovbiously traumatised. And, Alice in Wonderland, meh, I'm not too moved xoxo
I felt that the best part of the new Alice In Wonderland movie was the costume design. The story didn't really pull me in as I thought it might. But I loved all of the costume design and styling!!
Me and my brother used to build room forts.
With Christmas lights around them and everything.
I was thinking of hanging a large piece of fabric from my ceiling as though it was a fort over my bed.
Maybe I'll do it now that I'm inspired.
It will bring back so many childhood memories.
And I saw Alice In Wonderland the night before it came out.
"Sneak Preview" Style.
It was more political then anything.
And was more of a "follow your dreams, be your own person" type of feel then anything else.
I did enjoy the costume designs though.
As well as the makeup.

These are such inspirational pictures! I built forts as a child and my boyfriend and I still 'play camp' in the living room with our tent. We make the stars out of a flashlight and holey tin foil. We sometimes even make smores in the microwave. I love your blog and I can't wait to see what you post next.
Forts were (and I think they still could be) the one place I felt like nothing could happen to me. Not in a super cheesy way just in a comforting in your tummy way.
I also haven't seen Alice in Wonderland yet and am kind of reluctant because I'm scared it won't live up the expectations I've given it because of all the rave reviews.
I LOVE forts soooo much!!! what a pretty one, too. I think I know what I'm going to do today...work shmerk :)
i made huge forts when i was little, crawling inside and playing house. it was such a wonderful feeling, being safe and hidden!
Very sweet post!
The Alice film is A.Maz.Ing! I keep saying this - sound like I'm stuck on repeat. Depends on how much you appreciate Tim Burton's genius really.
I build forts for my daughter. And nests on the sofa. Used to build space rockets with my sister.
i totally did - forts were one of the funnest things. thanks for reminding me of them :)
my forts were always made out of the living room couch cushions and it always did feel so magical - thanks for reminding me :)
thank you for posting this i like it very much
Alice in Wonderland is magical! You have to see it. The problem it seems to be getting is people are expecting to see something like the book or the old movie. Tim Burton isn't trying to remake it, he's extending on the ideas which makes it even more magical. The casting and costumes are amazing. You just need to go in with fresh eyes ready to be inspired. Hope you enjoy it!

nothing beats a fort built under the kitchen table! our childhood sleepovers were such adventures in our little world of make believe. fun!
I love the photographs!
I also use to build forts when I was a child... I think I want to give it another go!
I haven't seen the new Alice film yet. I was put off when I heard it was set in the future! :-S
Oh yeah, I used to build forts. Actually, I built one yesterday, as I celebrated my birthday and did decorations everywhere. I felt such strong nostalgia, that I think I will build forts more often. Who cares if usually only kids do that. :}
these are so gorgeous. I used to love building sheet forts when i was little
