If you've been reading my Twitter, you probably know I've been trying to take some self-portraits recently. Anyone have any suggestions/tips to taking a good self-portrait? Like how to avoid that awkward pose look?

I've seen these photos by David Hamilton around the blogosphere a bit, but I simply couldn't resist posting these lovely images again; they all seem to be tainted by a dream.
Is your life all about blog content? Interesting post on decor8, dealing with how blogging affects the blogger's personal life. Would you do something in your life just so that you could blog about it? Is that necessarily a bad thing or is it okay? How do YOU feel about this?/What do YOU do?
Meridane Design: An online jewelry store I recently discovered that has a really neat concept. Their intricate designs are cleverly crafted so that they actually spell out words if you look closely. I got a necklace for my friend that says her name.
Favicon tutorial: Danni of oh, hello friend. has been nice enough to post an in-depth tutorial on how to add a faviconto your blog. I've always wondered how to do that!
Send Tina some love: As some of you may know, our dear Tina of English Muse has recently lost her newspaper job. Go visit her blog and send over some love :-)
"The photo album features the work of more than 100 amateur and professional photographers from around the world. We think (and hope!) it will inspire anyone who's ever picked up a camera and delight those who just like looking at pretty pictures. At least one will make you feel like running away, another like falling in love. One will make you feel like climbing under the blankets and another like having an impromptu house party. They make us think or feel differently, if only for a moment."

My lovelies, I hope this thought carries you through your Mondays (or Tuesdays!). It could be worse! Like the Internet could stop working or something. Where would we all be then haha?
Later today, I'm going to head out to this photography class I've been taking at a local art school. On Saturdays, they offer a program for non-university students to sign up for art classes there. My goal is to achieve the soft, dreamy quality of most of the photos on my blog. Does anyone have any tips?
This is so fitting for today because it's raining cats and dogs! Today I will try to smile in the rain. What about you? Is it raining where you are?/Where are you? I'm always curious to know where my readers are from!
Founded in November 2008. An inspiration blog that encompasses all aspects of art. Created to inspire others and for people who like pretty things.
Behind the blog
Hello! My name is Micaela. Located in San Francisco, I am an 18 year old with a love for photography, fashion, and all things vintage.
My goal is to inspire artists worldwide to express themselves and not be afraid to take on challenges that confront them. Creativity is contagious. I endeavor to find beauty in my community and exhibit it to others. In this sense, I can inspire others to create for themselves while at the same time being motivated to create as well.
