queen mab.

Saturday, January 24, 2009
Oh then, I see Queen Mab hath been with you.
She is the fairies' midwife, and she comes
In shape not bigger than an agate-stone
On the fore-finger of an alderman,
Drawn with a team of little atomies
Athwart men's noses as they lie asleep;
Her waggon-spokes made of long spinners' legs,
The cover of the wings of grasshoppers,
The traces of the smallest spider's web,
The collars of the moonshine's watery beams,
Her whip of cricket's bone, the lash of film,
Her waggoner a small grey-coated gnat,
Not so big as a round little worm
Prick'd from the lazy finger of a maid;
Her chariot is an empty hazel-nut
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
Made by the joiner squirrel or old grub,
Time out o' mind the fairies' coachmakers.
And in this state she gallops night by night
Through lovers' brains, and then they dream of love;
O'er courtiers' knees, that dream on court'sies straight,
O'er lawyers' fingers, who straight dream on fees,
O'er ladies' lips, who straight on kisses dream,
...This is that very Mab
...This is she--
~Mercutio, Romeo and Juliet
Photos from Ella and Michelle and Ana (Again. Her pictures are just so dreamy, I couldn't resist-they fit perfect with this post)

Also, I was inspired by Nita Karoliina to ask what do people think of Americans and the states. All you non-Americans out there, I'm wondering what other people think about this country.

So dreamy. The photos matched the words beautifully. That's one of the favourite parts of Romeo and Juliet.
As to youR question, it's definitely taboo. I'm an American living abroad and people have two very defining view on the United States. First of all, it's held culpable for the world's problems. The country is not acting according the people's opinions and many are angry with the state of affairs. On the other hand, America is still viewed as a chance at new life, as freedom, and as a place where dreams come true. Almost every person I've met dreams to live there, despite their views.

It's just absurd how much I love your blog. I hate that my life isn't a spitting image of everything in your blog. How can I make my life a dream of a blog such as this? Alas, I cannot...

I have tagged you in my blog.
Please have a look at your pleasure.

oh i had to act as Mercutio and perform the Queen Mab speech in my english class last year, it is my absolute favourite.
Thank you so much for this post, it really is beautiful

And when i think of America i think of power. And with Obama as the president, I'm hoping it'll help make the whole world a better place.

I'm honoured.

Beatiful and very very dreamy indeed. About your question: i use poladroid (i know, i'm such a cheater). I would love to use the real thing, but the film is so expensive, and the last films will soon expire anyway... But i'm thinking of getting myself a lomo, but then the question remains: diana or holga? Do you have any preferences? :)

Love you!
