the perks of being a wallflower.

"I walked over to the hill where we used to go and sled.
Image and video hosting by TinyPic
There were a lot of little kids there.

I watched them flying.

Doing jumps and having races.

And I thought that all those little kids are going to grow up someday.

And all of those little kids are going to do the things that we do.

And they will all kiss someone someday.

But for now, sledding is enough.

I think it would be great if sledding were always enough, but it isnt...

It's kind of like when you look at yourself in the mirror and say your name.

And it gets to a point where none of it seems real.

Well, sometimes, I can do that, but I don't need an hour in front of a mirror.

It just happens very fast, and things start to slip away.

And I just open my eyes, and I see nothing.

And then I start to breathe really hard trying to see something, but I can't.

It doesn't happen all the time, but when it does, it scares me."

Words from The Perks of Being a Wallflower, one of my favorite books.
Photos from where else other than weheartit.

Alas, I have been tagged and given an award by fellow blogger Lauren. This is the honesty scrap award in which you have to write 10 honest things about yourself and pass it on to at least 7 other deserving bloggers.
10 honest things about myself:

1. I am a dreamer who loves dreamy things (ha how profound was that?).
2. I never use abbreviations and other shortcuts when writing emails or texting.
3. I can spend anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour getting ready.
4. I am guilty of taking extremely long showers.
5. I wish my hair was longer.
6. When its a really cold night, I sleep with my bathrobe on.
7. I am currently in a love affair with French Onion Soup.
8. I put vaseline on my feet and ski socks every night before I go to bed so that my feet are nice and soft (who wants cracked heels?)
9. I was a little skeptical about blogging at first, but now that people are actually reading my blog, I like it a lot.
10. I listen to my iPod while putting on my makeup or straightening my hair. It makes the time go by faster.

I'm going to tag:
The Stylish Wanderer (since she's started doing some tags now)

Hope you all had a fun and laugher-filled weekend.
xoxo,
Micaela

okay i was really confused by the perks of being a wallflower, i read it last weekend as i had heard so much about it. but i thought for most of the book the narrator was retarded...but somehow he got a lot of girls? so then i was thinking he maybe wasnt retarded, even though he spoke like he was, and he ended up in the hospital?
im sorry, im not trying to be difficult, but can you please explain it to me?

tiny on January 26, 2009 12:00 PM said...

I like how you can just relate to the narrator even if you never lived a life like his. Who hasn't sat in front of the mirror and experienced to some extent the same thing? I do not know. I suppose he just makes readers feel like they are not alone.

ooh, beautiful micaela, this is one of my favorite posts. the pictures perfectly illustrate the quotes. just lovely. also, i've made up a fashionista tag on my blog. i didn't tag you because i wasn't sure you'd want to talk about your personal style... but i'd love if you'd do the tag. it would be so fun to hear about your wardrobe!

i just love taking hot showers and i put vaseline on my feet too! haha
and abt CB2. their stuff isn't that pricey but is very poorly made. i didn't get anything from there. i'd rather go to IKEA(if there was one near by) since it's cheaper with better quality.

i don't use shortcuts for texts and emails either. i find it to be less personal and somewhat machine-like/robotic? anyways, interesting post as always! love the photos.

Mmm, theses photos are great! I should check out weheartit (i know, i must be the only one who hasn't yet).
The photos in my last post are of my reflexion in the window, and the mist from my breath on it... Simple as that. But i kind of liked the way they looked double exposed so that's why i used them on the blog. :)

Much love to you dear..

Really? I can't believe that. Cereal for me could be eaten at every meal. I don't like the sugary kinds for kids, though. Those are gross. Especially fruit loops. YUCK.

The white frilly dress was so pretty but also eerie at the same time, kind of like a ghost story...... =]

i love that book .
charlie is .. so painfully honest and so genuine .
it's like he's this child who doesn't understand why there has to be anything other than simple things . happiness . love . friendship .
it's really sad , because he's so right .

Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.

For several years , I earn money with the help of these programs.
I'm with no money problems now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I get now up to 2G a day , and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I'm very close at catching at last a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Visit my web site to get additional info.
